. All the offers to help paint and clean, the encouraging words and the excitement buzzing from our clients has meant more than you know. Taking this huge leap has been a little terrifying but we know this community will be there along the way.
How can you help?
Buy something! Moving is expensive and this place needs quite a bit of paint. When we move, we will be able to offer many more workshops and classes during the weekend and week nights. Grab a class pass so you are ready as the new workshops become available. Maybe your pup could use a little refresher course to get ready for the summertime fun. We will still be offering our private session programs to help you individually on your specific challenges. Reach out today to get those scheduled.

Not only does it tell people searching for training they have come to the right place, it also tells the google bots that we should show up in the searches for “dog training”. With AI and ChatGPT offering their own input on how to train dogs, this is more important than ever. If you are like me, you check the reviews for everything from Plumbers to the new coffee shop you found. Leaving a review helps other people know they have found the answer to their dog’s challenging behaviors.

Your Friends, your neighbors, random people at the grocery store. The more people hear “The Freckled Paw” the more likely they are to remember us. Catch yourself scrolling mindlessly? Find your favorite local group and see if anyone is looking for a dog trainer. Word of mouth referrals are the best way to get our name out. We can’t be everywhere at once. Those of you who are already doing this, you are the favorite, and thank you!

We have loved being at the shelter, and we cannot thank them enough. Always welcome and accommodating to what we need, flexible while we traversed building challenges, changes in schedules and all the many other things that happen when you share a space. Even when we move, we plan to still support their amazing programs as best we can. If you are looking for a new family member, a volunteer opportunity, or a place for end of year donations, keep the Chesapeake Humane Society on your list.
